I need to access a web-based application which sits on an intranet seamlessly from VFP7

I need to request the information I need, in the format aomething like

webserv:<>/servlet?CMD=<>&PARAMETERS=<>

an XML document should be returned with the data I requested

the request is passed using http, with username and password

Is there a simple way of doing this in VFP7? If so, can it be easily tested on our own network/server?
