I'm trying to determine if the changes I'm seeing in the UT display are because of some change in my system, or from some other cause.

My dashboard graphic is very grainy, as if the display has reverted to 16 color (however other graphics in other applications have not been affected). Same thing with the Search/TimeWarp/Online/Offline/Replies section headers.
The lines withing the dashboard (the names/reply titles) are fine, displaying black on dark gray, until the mouse pointer runs over them - the they turn into a splotchy red/green background that nearly obliterates the text. This is 'fixed' by the next update that re-writes the dashboard; the header graphic remains unreadable.

The members pictures in e-mail headers, if color, are very grainy. Your b/w picture is fuzzy.
The background of the To: and From: fields in the mail reading and composition forms appears to be a gradient blue/gray shade that is supposed to be darker on the left and lighter on the right. It is somewhat blotchy, and makes the text difficult (but not impossible) to read.
