No way. The stakes are higher. Java and MS both have their evangelists, the emphasis on creating dicspiles now more than ever. The industry is set to host a holy war over ones and zeros while the politics of standards is about to get messier. Competition has reduced consortiums insulting our intelligence by using tear jerking words like "Liberty" in the names of authentication standards.

In the back of my mind I wish Microsoft had a monopoly. Then we wouldn't waste so many resources crying over what should be a slam dunk and actually get this stuff working together instead of fighting each other.
