To setup a report variable, modify the report, then go to the Variables selction on the Report menu. They work much the same as putting a calcultion on a report field, except that you can reference it in other report fields by name. IF you don't check the Release after report the variables will still be available once the report ends.

and another report variable nFemales to SUM with expression
IIF(IIF(Gender = "M", 0, 1)
. Set these to group as needed. You may need two sets of variables, one for the class grouping and one for the section grouping.
