>If I make an executable out of my VFP code and want to install it on multiple workstations (all just going to a folder on the server to access the DBF's),....What is required? Is there a special RunTime version of VFP available or is it included in my VFP 5.0 license? Is there a "Developer's version" I have to buy to get a RunTime that I would need? What is needed?
It's all included in the VFP package. What you want to do is create a subfolder where you did your development work which I call Prod [production]. You can name it whatever you want. Copy to that subfolder the compiled EXE and any other files that need to be installed. Exclude your data files. I also do not install reports because I distribute that in a zip file with the data files.
Next, run the SETUP wizard found under Tools/Wizards. This will create a SETUP.EXE file that you can use to install the VFP runtime files and app on the user's workstations.
Why don't you come to our User Group meeting this Thursday and you can get all the help you will ever need. Check out
