Multiplying y by the pixeltotwip ratio worked but it highlights nodes a couple of rows underneath the mouse cursor. However, the nodes are consistently selected as I move my mouse up and down so I just subtracted y with a constant. For what I am doing, I also found I could leave x as is and it still works the same.
