Here's what I need to know: which video camera has the best value/cost ratio and has:

- good resolution
- can be hooked up to a computer
- good lens
- decent microphone (or at least a receptacle for an external one)
- decent download speed
- sufficient memory (to store at least 10 minutes...or really, what's realistic here)?
- ability to use existing light

The camera doesn't have to be any of miniature, feature-rich, zip-bang automatic, doesn't have to support any tape format (or to have any tape at all) and doesn't have to look like the latest version of kill-o-zap gun.

I'm inquiring on behalf of my daughter, who will need one of these babies for the next semester. The most generally knowledgeable bunch of people I know are here, so this is where I look for information.
