I hate to get off on the wrong path with this.

1. How much time are we talking about?

2. Is this a new record or edit?

3. How are the other users "finding" the new data?

     A.  Searching for data?
     B.  Expecting an automatic refresh?

It is always a bit hard to understand what a user expects. Sometimes I am a user! :)
