>>>I have a form with two tables in the DE. One table is associated with a Grid. Everything worked OK for awhile, but then somewhere I made a change and now whenever select a field on the grid you cannot edit the first field, it will be and say at the bottom of the screen RECORD IS READ ONLY. If you tab over to the next field, or any of the others it will allow you to change them without any problems. I have checked to see if the grid, column or text box is set to read only and they are not. I didn't make any changes to anything that I thought would have any effect on the Grid. Any suggestions? BTW, using VFP 3.0 for Mac.

>>Shane, what is the data used in the grid? If it's a cursor, then that's your problem - cursors are read-only unless you re-use them in a different area.

>The Problem was only with the first column being read-only all the other columns worked NOT read only. All columns are from the same table. I got it working by adding the Alias to the control source for the first column. I'm not sure why all the other columns were OK without it. I did check to see if any other tables or variables had the same field name but they did not. All the names showed up correctly but they were read-only. The control source was simply APPLICANT, I changed it to INC_APP.APPLICANT and then it worked. Any ideas why?
