Removing the between when clause lets the query run.

The problem is that I need to sum the number of cases for a given shift. Shift 1 may be between 07:00 and 14:59 and shift 2 between 15:00 and 23:59. I was attempting to use the between clause to determine if the which shift the begintime field fell in.
