Yes Marvin, it's possible. A friend of mind (Victor Espina, UT Member too) did a class to encapsule all the hard work of NT/2K Services. His download page is:
http://vespina.netfirms.com/archivos.htmIf you visit the website, you could see the main language is spanish, and the link to the ntservice class library is broke. Ok, let's take it easy, I download that class before he change of free webserver, and actually he doesn't have time to update the links. I could send you that class via email if you still want to use it, but the documentation is in spanish too (sorry, he have a lot of work!), but don't worry, I have time to translate it for you if you need it (I just only have to transalate the documentation, the properties & methods have english nomenclature & names -- Save, Register(), Unregister(), etc--).

http://vespina.netfirms.com/>Is is it possible to write a program to run in the background as a service on an NT/2000 box? In my case I need to write a document server that as entries are made to a database, the documents are merged and printed or emailed. I know how to write the program, my question is how to make it run as a service in the back ground.
