Hi, anyone:

I have inherited an application that is having a high incidence of GP Faults/Insufficient Memory errors.

The situation:

A.) 28 workstations with Windows for Workgroups (3.11); each with 16mb memory, lots of disk space

B.) On each the local drive of workstation is a FPW2.6a executable that uses a common set of data files residing on a Windows NT server.

C.) The app programmatically creates Word 6.0 documents. Users need to launch Word (with the FoxPro app still open) to check and edit these documents.

I have searched and read all pertinent articles in KB, and searched through the "FoxPro for Windows Resource Kit (for version 2.5x" for configuration information.

Currently in CONFIG.FPW, there is no MEMLIMIT setting. As I understand it, this means that FPW will use, by default, 1.5mb of memory

All discussion of MEMLIMIT that I can find addresses its use only in the context of having only FoxPro (and no other Windows applications) open , and dedicating the bulk of available memory to FPW.

My questions are: Anybody out there with experience in a similar situation? Is there a MEMLIMIT setting that would allow TWO Windows applications (specifically FPW and Word) to coexist comfortably? Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Reno Bailey
