Assuming you could trick it in that manner, I don't see how you would have much control over the positioning of items on the page. And how would you prevent the printer from prompting you for a different paper size?
The method I'm suggesting really is not as bad as it sounds. You can create the front and back separately, and then copy/paste the items from page two on top of page one.
