Luis;
I have a few clients with peer to peer setups. The problems attributable to index corruption could be from the following sources. The same is true of file/server or client/server. By the way my “previous life” was as an electronics engineer and I got involved with such problems all the time.
1. Power Line
A. Not supplying “clean” alternating current.
B. Low or high voltage
Monitor with proper instrumentation the power line input. SCR’s can destroy data very easily. Power line conditioning equipment may be in order. Also, the power supplies found in PC’s are called “switching power supplies”. When they get old they tear up data on a computer or near by computers. If you have power supplies 3 or more years old check them!
2. Hubs, switches, and cables should be checked.
3. Be sure you train your users not to turn off equipment in the middle of an operation - that was one of my biggest problems! :)
What errors are you receiving?
Tom

>Thank's, here we have problems with poor equipment, terrible power quality and lot's of peer-to-peer configurations (I have some real client/servers). I have programmed Xbase languages from dbase III+, Clipper,Fox 2.0,2.6 for DOS., and I had not great problems with indices as I have under Windows.

>Following your experience I would say that my appreciation is correct, the problem seem to be more in external elements rather than in Visual FoxPro (I have been programming Visual Foxpro since version 3). Now can you explain me why would I have problems in peer-to-peer WinXX network, and more important how can I avoid such problems.
