Two other things to look out for:

One is file associations. When doing an installation of 7, it will hijack the reg keys for standard VFP files. No big deal unless you're used to clicking on files in the Explorer to launch them.

Two is the class "visualfoxpro.application". oFox=CREATEOBJECT("visualfoxpro.application") will launch VFP 7 by default.

As to dropping bits, no big deal. TThey work and play well together.
