Brian;
Some things I like about Visual Max Pro Professional.

1. The philosophy behind the tool agrees with the way I like to do things.
2. It is easy to adapt the framework to your own way of doing things.
3. I found it fun to use.
4. The discussion group is a great resource to answer or ask questions.
5. It is a solid product.

I use several frameworks and this is my favorite.

A story I have told before but it is for geeks. A few years ago I bought the VMP framework. I rode the train from Santa Clara to Redwood City each day to and from work. On the way home one winters evening I began reading the tutorial that came with the product. I became so engrossed in my reading I did not realize I had passed my stop. This required a four mile walk in the dark on a cold evening, to return to the station where my car was parked.

I will not forget how elated I was while reading the book and my feeling of missing my stop! Be careful when you open up the manual. You may forget reality and end up at the “wrong station”! :)

>There's nothing preventing you from using SPT for all your development. The tutorials may use views, but there are examples using SPT.

>Yep, I've been reading a bit about this. Plus, Drew recently did a presentation on VMP 2002 at one of our dying user group meetings.

What I would like to avoid is getting a framework, then finding out, oh, you need to buy this too, and then you should probably get that, or whatever, in the middle of development or before ever having something to offer to customers.

>Right now I'm looking at purchasing WWC because I would like the end-product to have the option of running across the Internet or an intranet. I would like it to be n-tier, not because it has to be, but because I think that it would be worthwhile to learn how to develop such a beast from the ground up. VMP 2002 is looking like the best bet for a couple of reasons. One of which is that several people in the local group in this area use it.
