Um, David, to continue your train of thought:

... where is the French version of VFP 7?

Answer: Insufficient numbers of developers upgraded or bought V.6 to make a French V.7 a paying proposition.

So you see, it matters a lot.

How can you agree with Ken about being honest and then disagree when he explains, straight up, how VFP product planning works inside Microsoft? "It's all about the upgrades". What's there to disagree with that? You disagree because wishful thinking tells you to? I don't get it.

>I agree about the direct and honest information.
>I do not agree (as if that makes any difference or anything new) that you are saying the unless people upgrade or buys VFP, MSFT will not spend any money on marketing and development. It is a catch-22. Yes, I think everyone that is using VFP now should have the latest version. No brainer... So, that would practically have to happen before there would be enough money to spend on advertising to bring in new folks??? And then there is the up coming response from the Fox Team... "Oh, we couldn't add that feature because not enough people bought or upgraded VFP."

>Where are the VFP7 reviews? Where are the articles that explain why VFP should be used and .NET should used?

>>Claudio, would you rather me be quiet or dishonest with you and the FoxPro community, or would you prefer that I am direct and honest about setting expectations? I assume that the FoxPro community would prefer direct and honest information that helps them rather than being manipulated or worse, not hear anything at all. There are no plans or strategy to spend more money on the development plus marketing of VFP relative to the revenue it generates. So it is actually not just in my interest for more VFP developers to upgrade to VFP7 who haven't yet, but it is in your interest as well. I am working on an interview with the UT and it certainly contains some interesting questions, and my goal is to be as honest and direct as possible because that is what I think the FoxPro community wants and deserves. Do people agree?
