Judging from my own experience, it would seem to me that the problem is that the query you are using is not an updatable one. Usualy when there are calculated fields or bound (through a relationship) data. If indeed you are using a query stored in an Access DB, try running the query from Access and check to see if you can update the data from there.

Other than that, I'd have to check further back to other occasions when I've encountered this problem.
