Hi Tom,

>>Creating more compact executables so we're not left with 10+ MB executables while there is an enormous waste of space in the executable. Making it possible to retrieve linenumbers in error handling routines not having to include every line of source code in forms and classes, would be the first step.

>We should suggest that all VFP runtime files be made a part of the operating system. After all, many VB files come with the OS. :)

I was not talking about the runtime files, but rather the sometime gigantic large executables which could be drasticly reduced if compressed.

About including the runtime files, I'm not sure what advantage this would bring. Which versions should be included; what service packs ? Anyways it seems to me that whenever distributing applications, you've always have to include the runtimes to make sure that they're there and that they're of the correct version.

When distributing my latest VFP 7 application, I still have to include the runtimes in order to make them work on any OS that was shipped before VFP 7.

Walter,
