I understand these types of issues. I don't have a good solution for you about updating the runtimes on all your applications running, but I know many companies who are doing it and having success, sometimes involving thousands of desktop PCs. But you know you can upgrade to VFP 7.0 and use many of the new producity features for development but still use VFP 6 as the runtime as needed until you are ready to update those systems.
