PDW creates (in addition to SETUP.EXE) SETUP.LST file, which is in plain text and can be edited in same manner. However, I'm not sure you can launch SETUP.EXE in silent mode.
Installation creates ST6UNST.LOG file, which also is in plain text and can be used to determine successful operations/errors during installation.
