>>I never said there would no marketing for VFP. Be clear, I said product resources and marketing are relative to revenue generated by VFP. There will likely be more marketing, especially at launch time, of Toledo than was with VFP 7.0.

>Is the marketing for VS.Net or Visual Basic being paid for solely based on sales of those products the way it is for VFP?

When functionality of VFP expands beyond the stand-alone application stage, (Yeah, I know there are third party tools to broaden the perspective such as Westwind, ColdFusion, etc.) such as building in the capability to Web enable, become a true client server environment, with server side scripting and thin client, there will be a large sxcale scramble to upgrade, (or at least submit in the budget as a request) Until then it will stay a niche product, steadily crawling into a smaller and smaller niche.
The attitude of marketing, where there is the mentality of "If I sell ten copies, I can spend X amount for marketing, and "if I sell 20, there is a little more." is laughable. Thqat is not the approach for the operating systems, or automobiles, or most anything else.
Oh how I yearn for a single tool to handle the database, the queries, and dynamic presentation of data to the web browser. This makes is useful on the public web, as well as the intranet. IT makes the client side integrate with the available browsers, and development would be concentrated on the server side. Talk about rapid application development, and reusable code!
