>Using VFP6.0 labels, I am unable to print a single label without ejecting an entire page. I need a 1" long form, but cannot find a "custom form" to set to a 1" length. VFP seems to ignore the "noeject after" setting. The application uses a label printer - a small 1-up dot printer and the user may want only one or 2 labels printed without ejecting a full 11" page. The shortest form I can find is a 4x6 card, but even this will eject up to 3 unused labels each time we print. Any ideas on how to make this type of printer work without wasting so many labels?

John:

Sorry I didn't have this available at the User Group meeting for you. I think I told you that I was about to purchase Cathy Pountney's book on the Report Writer. Here is what I found.

If you use the Label Wizard there is an option in Step-2 (Choose Label Item) to define a new label (at bottom of right of pre-defined label grid).

Once you've done that your label will continue to show up in the list. It will also show up in the list of available labels when you do CREATE LABEL.

I think the label definitions are stored in the Registery somewhere and I don't know how to create the custom labels without going through the wizard (Haven't finished the chapter yet)

Hope this helps.

See you at the next Austin User Group meeting.
