Icons are nothing more than non-hidden files. Simply retrieve the name of the files in the Desktop special special folder (you can retrieve the name for the Desktop special folder from the SpecialFolders collection of the Shell.Application object - each file corresponds to an icon on the desktop unless the file is marked as hidden or system.
