Bill, you can access the data without the indexes, but VFP won't read the NTX files.
If you need to use both VFP and Clipper at the same time, you're going to have to change the Clipper indexes. Programs like SixDriver will let you change the file and index structure to FP2.x structures which VFP3 and VFP5 can read/write to with no trouble. These will be free tables, not tables in the DBC.
