Thanks Tamar for your response

I have two other machine with 98 and ME loaded and Office 97. Just have not had the need to go to Office XP. The programming is volunteer work so I was trying to avoid buying a copy of XP. From my military days I know never to volunteer. But in a weak momemt I succumbed.

Larry suggested a url to check to see what changed and I'll pursue that course.

Thanks
Gaylen

>>I have written a VFP program which uses ole automation using Office 2000. I want to port this application to another machine which has Office XP installed instead of Office 2000. Because I do not own XP and the other machine is 1200 miles away, I am wondering if the Word and Excel objects will be created and the program run as expected or will I have to change the code for Office XP. I am making calls to both Excel and Word.

>The answer is both yes and no. Theoretically, anything that works with Office 2000 should work with XP, but in practice, I have run into some issues related to changes made in XP. The stuff I was doing was pretty esoteric, so not worth getting into here, but the answer that you'll need to test.
