>> - open source Visual Voodoo designer
Never used the product but I am all in favor of open source.

>> - Craig was tired. Sounds like he needs more Dew :-)
Maybe he should take a very long break? < vbg > He posts far more answers that gets me fired up than anybody else. I rarely agree with his position
on general topics because he is far too much "MS or death" for my taste.
He has obviously some redeeming qualities because he has an impressive number of friends on this forum, but am I ever glad I don't hav to work with
him.

>> - lots of people at Essential Fox have never attended a VFP conference
>> before
Cool but I agree with the other posters that this was not the best
indicator of what is really going on in the community.

>> - there will be a new VFP7 OLEDB provider in beta possibly in July
Cool

>> - Hentzenwerke will be releasing a VFP with .NET book
Cool. I purchased 4 of their books and they all helped me in some ways.

>> Toledo features demoed
>> - tabs on left side of pageframe
Useful but I would be happier if they could be put on any side.

>> - rotating images
Cool. Will allow me to do more spiffy looking applications. But come to
think of it, I may follow Steven's advice and farm the GUI out to someone
who enjoys it more than I do.

- grid row highlights that stay after focus is off the grid
Useful but I don't use grid very often. May have to evaluate the grid
again with the next release.

- autosizing of grid columns via double-click
Will wait and see before I pass judgement. Some of the auto-resizing
functionality in manyducts really gets on my nerve and I don't want to
assume this new feature will be another one to add to the list at this
juncture.

- two way view designer
Maybe useful to me, maybe not.

I have not attended a VFP, VB, or Oracle conference in 4 years because I
now prefer to attend conferences that are not tool specific in nature (and
some outside of the IT field). Retooling has never been difficult to me and
I get far mnore enjoyment attending conferences where I can learn about
animal migration patterm than I ever did at a tool-specific conference.
Furthermore, it allows me to contact people that have interisting problems
to solve but not the expertise to solve them. Or maybe I attend these
conferences because I'm weird...

Daniel
