I, too, would like to recommend the Hentenwerke books. I would add Effective Techniques to the list of reading. Immersing yourself in the language is the best way to learn, and you can ask specific questions here and always get great help.

Also, I think you should avoid VFP's built in wizards (for creating a form, for example) as a learning tool. I'm sure there are some who will disagree with me on this point :)
