Hey, you never know.. this is the third time we've changed gears on this program, usually just about the time I get my hook routine to manage the appropriate activex objects complete and working, too. First there was different label software. But it doesn't work right with the brand of printers they use. So then we were going to use the second label software, the one with the limitations I described, plus another biggie - it imports dozens of competitor's formats - EXCEPT the one of the old program! Now the Crystal idea - but wait, Crystal works with any Windows printers, so maybe they don't have to keep buying these same printers. And if they use a different brand of printer, maybe the other label program will work, meaning no conversions... (I'm keeping my mouth shut!) < g >
Maybe I'll use your DTS information to automate some of the data conversion chores - existing data is spread out among dozens of inconsistently used DBF format files (CodeBase I think, since it has cominations of Clipper and dBase indexing). I might be able to make someone's life easier.
