>Is it possible that Ken is not interested in promoting FoxPro whatsoever.
No. We could look at what Ken did the first day he got the job and see that the above is wrong.
>The real sad part is the some of the best VFP talents have gotten to deep in defending Ken and stating a commitment to use only VFP right now that they are cutting their own opportunity to be as great in the .NET world as they are in the VFP world.
I doubt this is the case. If you're talking about the conversations that have been going on this week, you probably haven't gotten the whole story. I for example, don't happen to see eye to eye with John Petersen on the issue of how fast developers should run to .NET. I also don't see eye to eye with Steve Black on how developers should sit still and wait for .NET to be proven first. There's always middle ground, which is where I am right now.
>Microsoft go what, $400. for Mikes’s copy of VFP. Why would they want to promote Fox?
That would be true if I only had one copy. However, I've bought several copies of VFP on top of the one I get in MSDN just because I think VFP is worth much more than even 3x its worth. I support VFP with money out of my own pocket in this respect.
However, you raise an extremely valid point. I invite you to add your thoughts to
http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~UnlimitedFreeRuntime~VFP>Am I the only one who sees it this way?
Probably not. But then, if you try hard enough, you'll probably find a couple of people who think the earth is flat too.
