You weren't taking about yourself in your post:

"I'll throw one out here.. there is ZERO opportunity cost in investing in .NET today. Where you have idle time, you should invest it in learning .NET, and specifcally, VB IMO."

So, for a developer who has the choice of spending his/her money learning VFP/Web Connect vs. dotNet, there is definitely a opportunity cost that is non-zero.
