Perhaps I wasn't clear. I think emotions are neither wrong nor right in any given situation. What I was trying to point out was that they can and often do lie to you. As such you should always check the facts the emotions are apparently reacting to. That's all.

No doubt. Personally I think he has a deep need to be accepted just as he is (and that includes the part he is hiding from himself - as we all do at times) and so he's trying to reconcile his insides with his world. We serve his purposes here. All of which if fine but it's kind of like going through the teenage years (he says ducking <g>).
