Sure, in this case - you bet. I think that if I were to hire a couple of code jockeys and I had a choice of male or female and notwithstanding any specific set of circumstances I'd actuallt tend to want to hire the ladies firs. Why? Because I believe that their brains are physiologically different than men's are and that this difference allows them an easier time managing multiple, simultaneous tasks. Is that sexist? Only if you define 'sexist' at that level I suppose but as I'm sure you've figured out by now <g> I don't. <s> But still.. That wouldn't be the only criterion. maybe the guys have the experience set I need. Is that sexist? No but some try and make it so - based upon the statistical and numerical outcome. That's what I object to; this world just doesn't work that way and there are TONS of examples where a particular culture tends towards one kind of profession or another. Jewish folks are often known as being in the diamond business. Why? Well, when you're constantly persecuted you discover that diamonds are a much easier manner in which to transport wealth. There's far more to this than numbers and basing intent on those numbers.....
