Being still an implant into a culture different than one I've grown in, I often fail to grasp the nuances of fine insults displayed here, but this one I recognize from home, and it's a peculiar sort that ticks me off. The way I understand this (keep cultural differences in mind), you said that

- Mike is a gullible naive who has fallen under Steve's influence
- he's incapable of using his own head
- he's actually done well adhering to someone else's opinion, but
- he picked the wrong guy to get his opinions from, he should rather take one more to your liking

I've had such a thing attempted upon me in my time, and I had to count to about 20 (in hex) to calm down and retort in an appropriate manner. Not being the target this time, I will not do that - just wanted you to know how can this be perceived.
