I've thought about doing that too, but, I was holding out for a "better" solution.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to determine the maximum length of the data in each column I'd have to "pre-process" all the cells first and that to me would be an unnecessary delay especially if the number of records is "huge". Another stumbling block for me is that I don't know how to convert characters to pixels. What if the font changes?
