[Sorry I'm late on this -- I haven't been on UT in a while!]
One thing confuses me about this post: I am going through the VMP 2002 tutorial right now, and the n-tier sections do use SPT. And in fact, as I recall, they recommend that approach. Are you looking at something different than I am?
