>>Why don't you post something regularly to tell us what's happening in VFP world ? Perhaps like YAG is going to do here on the UT for Visual Studio .Net
>
>Denis, Ken is doing thing like that! UT is not the only place where you can get informaiton on VFP. Perhas you are not looking in all of the places.

Isn't the UT the main place for VFP? Anyway that's how I feel, like many other I'm sure. The only place I go to have info about VFP is the UT. MS said that the UT would be the main place for .Net can't they do the same for VFP. That way we'd be certain to have all the important information at one place.

>>Some time ago you said that you wanted all the community to help. How can we help if we don't know what you're doing to promote VFP. Perhaps you could tip us on how to help you promote it.
>
>Denis, you can start helping by presenting at our user's group. The have your boss and others to see your presentation.
>In Fox Zone you can enter all of your projets done wit VFP.
>This will help more than this thread.

How could presenting in front of an already won VFP crowd help the cause of marketing VFP?
It has to expend. To only rely on the existing VFP crowd will kill it for sure. Needs change and those working with VFP today could have to work with something else in the future. That could be said for other IT developer. Some could work with a tool today and perhaps are not satisfied with what they're using. If they're not aware of the existence of VFP there are not many chances they'll use it.

>>What is the overall plan to make VFP have a stronger place in the IT world. Because that's what is at stakes here. It's not just a matter of keeping the place occupied so far but to make it bigger. What do you do to make that happen?
>
>Consultant like me and you can make this different by building good projets with VFP.

For sure it'll help but it won't be enough

>>Where will VFP be in 5 years. If you tell me you don't know then does that mean that I'd better switch right away to Visual Studio .NET because I'd bet that this will be here in 5 years. By the way that C# looks really promising.
>
>I see VFP in the IT worlds used with .Net.
>Ken know what VFP need to have the product usefull in the .Net environment.
>I trust Ken 100% for that.

We'll see

>>I saw presentations from VFP gurus at our user's group. Most of them told us that VFP was still the best. How much should we believe from what they said. Perhaps they're only trying to protect their status. Who wants to hire a guru if he's alone in his field?
>
>Not true! All of the gurus that presented at MFUG are not like that.
>Ken you can get the list of all speakes at http://www.mfug.ca/present.html

I did'nt say all I said most.

>
>>
>>Why do we see so often here or in ProFox threads questioning the eventual death of VFP. Perhaps MS should do something about this. Even if not true those will hurt the VFP market. Please don't refer me to the video of Mr. Ballmer. The VFP community does'nt need videos or excuses it needs actions.
>
>The Ballmer video is what you should show others. This will make a diferences.
>>
>>I read that Gartner once said bad things about VFP. You said that you met them. Why can't they say something good about VFP now? If many businesses are influenced by that group how do you think they react whey they don't see them comment on new releases of VFP. Perhaps they don't consider VFP as a good product because they probably think if Gartner did'nt say anything about new releases it's probably because it's not better that it was when they reviewed it the last time.
>
>Gartner are not good. I will read what MS is writing before the Gartner group.

Who are you to say Gartner is not good? Who do I believe now you or Gartner?
I'll believe Gartner is not good when it files for bankruptcy. Until then someone will have to change their mind about VFP.

>>We have'nt heard much in the last months as to what's happening in the VFP world. You know that many members of the VFP community are an insecure bunch (rejections frequently causes that behavior <g>). Please tell us that better days are coming.
>
>VFP world is groing. That what is appending. Not by mush but groing.

I hope so.
