I understand that you don't want to throw VFP against .Net or SQL Server. For whatever reasons. If I'd be MS I'd probably do the same. Who wants to have one of his products compete with his other products. From a business standpoint it makes a lot of sense.

MS has compared SQL Server with Oracle (benchmarks...)
MS has compared Windows with Linux (articles...)
Why have'nt MS compared VFP with Delphi, and other similar products based on the speed of the data engine?

There's an interesting market. Perhaps some are using Delphi because they like the RAD tool but are not satistified with it's data engine speed. Anyway you're the marketing guy you figure out the rest of that campaign ;-)
