That was it!! Many thanks for your help. I was hoping it was something like that. Now I just have to figure out how all the columns got that way. We don't have any builders or utilities that touch those settings so it must have been on one of the many crashes while we were writing it.

I can click on a column and the propery window changes to that column but the mouse does not work on the headings. I can do what I need to using the properites window but I am concerned that the grid is corrupted and could cause problems for my users at some later time.
