Important for what purpose? How would one attract and keep significant amounts of new VFP developers? This ties into the VFP marketing talk that has been going on. In my opinion, VFP is a product that cannot nor should it be marketed. It should not be marketed because the developers that would be the likely target of such efforts already use the product. Further, assuming that new developers come into the fold, do they equal or exceed the amount of developers that leave the fold?

All of the internal education efforts that go on at MS won't make a difference. Ken said as much when he was posited the question of whether the perceptions of VFP in the IT would would ever improve. Ken's response is that this is not likely to ever change significantly. Folks that come up with elaborate marketing schemes that border on the length of a treatise. In doing so, what amounts to an intiquing academic excercise has no basis in reality.

Simply put, why people hold out a candle that signigicant new numbers of VFP developers could be procurred is puzzling. It it is nothing more than unbridled enthusiasm, I can understand that. Still, it is something not predicated on reality.

>And this points out, John, the *importance* of attracting and keeping NEW VFP developers.
