Before my post, I was about to do as you suggested when I discovered that the SET PATH solved the problem for now.

The larger issue is regarding how the development system should work.
Interestingly the *.scx has the classloc in relative form, which means that if I move the screen, it will break the connection to the libraries also.

Surely, I'm not the first to experince this issue. Is the rebuilding of the classloc fields in the *.scx the standard solution (similar to what has to be cone with printers in report form *.frx files)?

Isn't that the function of the SET LIBRARY command - to tell a form where to find the necessary libraries? BTW, I'm working with VFP 6.0 SP5 at the moment. I'm installing 7.0 and I'll see if there is any change of behavior.
