Building on the analogy of the printer columns that have to be removed from the report definition files (.frx), I removed all entries form the classloc column of the screen form .scx. Once that was cleared, then the library address contained in the SET CLASSLIB TO statement took effect.

It appears that if the library if not found in an address specified in the classloc field, the PATH will be searched, but the SET CLASSLIB location will not. If NO address is in the classloc field, then the SET CLASSLIB location is used, and SET PATH is not necessary

Does this correspond to other user's experience?
Is there a downside to using SET PATH? I don't see it much in other developoer's larger projects.
