Wish i could tell you exactly what the utility was but a colleauge of mine once booted an NT 4 machine with a floppy and was able to access the NTFS permissions so it is definitely possible. On a side note, the reason he did this was to be able to copy the SAM file. UsinG this he was then able to crack the administrator password for a client who had misplaced the password and was locked out of the system. Makes you feel secure eh?
