I need to find a relatively simple way to determine when focus leaves a grid (and the grid's controls).

Goal: We wish to display shape around a grid to make it obvious to the user that a grid, especially one with no records, has focus.

I had, naively, hoped that the grid's VALID event might be directly useful here. This approach is not ideal since when focus simply moves from the grid to one of its controls the grid's VALID fires.

Might someone be able to suggest a relatively simple way of accomplishing this? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.
