MS markets everything that way. When was the last time you saw a VB ad in Dr. Dobbs Journal or Linux World? I have seen some .NET advertising but, not much. And there's a simple reason for that. Most open source programmers aren't going to give up Python and run to VB. Hatred of MS in that community is almost a religion.

But, ask them about FoxPro. Besides IE, Fox is the only MS software that I've actually heard Perl and Python guys talk about. Hell, I’m a Python guy who uses FoxPro.
