I saw the link to an "End of the World" (For Novell) article and found this quote:

"Aberdeen analyst Hoch said that Windows NT (and later Windows 2000) and NetWare both did what they set out to do. Nevertheless, Microsoft succeeded in stealing the bulk of Novell's market share through a combination of Windows NT's relative ease of use and Microsoft's extremely aggressive marketing."

It amazes me how dense some reporters can be. That fact that WinXX was on almost every computer that Dell, Gateway and the rest shipped wasn't "agressive marketing... it was illegal marketing. Usually, when a felon is convicted, part of the punishment is restitution for damages done during the crime. The current 'negotiation' with the DOJ has eliminated any punishment for proven crimes, so MS continues to profit from its illegal activities and 'analysts' and 'reporters' continue to credit the wrong attributes.
