I should have mentioned at the start - I have put a shape on the container which is opaque and the container is opaque. It's beginning to look like a bug to me.

>If you haven't already done so, Try setting the container's BackStyle property to 1 - Opaque. Alternatively, put a shape at the back of the container's z-order as Gérald suggests.
