< There is a significant percentage of existing VFP developers who have not yet upgraded to VFP 7.0 />
I think MS may be missing an opportunity by not marketing VFP to the open source community. FoxPro is one of the only “closed source” apps I use. As I’m sure you are aware – hating MS is almost a religion for a lot of open source programmers. VFP is probably the only MS app that open source programmers would ever use. And open source apps are becoming more-and-more popular on Windows (Apache, MySQL, Postgres, and the Gimp). Also, VFP makes an EXCELLENT front end to MySQL and Postgres. So why can’t some of these open source apps be written in VFP?
