Who knows? Will this machine still be used as a workstation? If so, then any shared resources are still at the mercy of the current operator. Please look closely at the link I provided. At $549 for 40 GB of storage, less than 1 hour setup for a complete rookie, you could have solved the problem already. I doubt you could upgrade this machine for this, unless you work for free. Reliability will always be an issue with your setup.
