Good idea, as soon as I had the time I will start building this database...

This job is not easy, because there are a lot of services, that are not part of the Windows OS itself, but from enterprise apps like SQL Server, IIS, MSMQ etc.
When I start, I will notify you either by message in UT and email.

Also I think it will be good to provide some kind of query service - e.g. "I have the following service with name *Foo* running on my Windows 2000 Pro machine. What is it?"
